Must have book for Interior Design
Before redecorating it’s a good idea to research styles of decor. This book has classic styles to consider.Added plus if there is a paint color you like you can take the book into a paint store and have them natch the photo.

Beautiful Reference/Decorating Inspiration
Wonderful Book!!!! Great for coffee table, reference, inspiration. Bunny Williams is an American Designer with impeccable flair and vision for Interior/exterior design. This book was delivered brand new, in the dust cover, sealed in plastic, which i appreciated. Way too often when I purchase books from various sellers, they arrive in questionable condition. Love Affairs with Houses beautifully executed and captured the essence of Bunny Williams style, some of the photos are of Ms Williams beloved home up North. While I know the majority of curated collections we can't afford, the book lends itself to ideas in surrounding oneself with happiness, one can dream. Would definitely recommend.

I *Used* to like Bunny Williams' Interiors.
Most of this review concerns the chapter,"A View of the Sea," although it applies to all the houses (not "homes") in this book. I originally "met" Bunny William's work about thirty years ago. It was gorgeous. Vibrant, luscious, rich fabrics, perfection even in casual or small spaces. Here and there the old Bunny Williams' style shone through. Each room has an inkling of the former beauty of Ms. Williams' decor, lovely, vibrant colours on the walls, some luxurious draperies, lovely richly colored and patterned shaws or throws over the backs of sofas. Unfortunately, the decor more often showcased white or muddied fabrics, with throw cushions that conflicted with the upholstery. While it is uncommon to find cushions in a muddied fabric that conflict with another muddied fabric, somehow Ms. Williams managed it. One of the most egregious flaws in every house is the use of pleated *white* lamp shades on *every single lamp in the house.* In at least one room, there are no lamps at all! This is a room with comfortable seating. I suppose the hidden TV means one is not to do anything in that room except watch it, oh, and eat breakfast at a tiny table out of proportion with the room.A room named the "library" had no book shelves. They needn't have worried, I suppose, as there were very few books in the room. Those books appeared to be what is known as "coffee table" books. I have nothing against such books, I have several myself. However, a few coffee table books does not a library make.Overall, I was very disappointed with this book.

Very nice traditional design
I have a small library of design books and thought it was time to finally purchase one by Bunny Williams. There are already several reviews so I'll keep mine short There are 15 projects captured in the book. Each chapter has a page of text, large photos, and captions to describe each of the photos.I thought the homes were lovely, but I felt the book lacked elements to make them look unique. By the end of the book I felt the homes were all very similar, with each blending into the other. The last chapter, the designer's studio, while lovely, also felt a bit snobbish. Not too many people can afford to purchase their neighbors house and remake it as a studio and exercise room. All in all, I enjoyed the book but thought it lacked inspiration.

Beauty and Comfort Combined
No one on this side of the pond has the ability to combine wonderful antiques and grand architecture with comfortable furnishings, hallmarks of English country style, as beautifully as Bunny Williams. Her take on this style is more edited, with none of the fustiness and worn items that characterize some (or many) of the English great houses (especially those that are not open to the public), and it's quite obvious that huge amounts of money are required to furnish and decorate these houses, but almost all of them have warmth and livability as the most intrinsic quality. Ms. Williams seems to be going in the direction of more modern interiors as compared to her previous books, which is not surprising since interior decorating is not a static field, and one must not only go with the times but also incorporate new and different elements to grow as a person and a decorator. I'm firmly in the camp of traditional interiors, and this book has enough of that type to keep me very satisfied. It's a lovely book that will satisfy Bunny William's many fans and also appeal to a younger generation that wants more of an edge when decorating their homes. She's an inveterate traveler and in constant search of the finest and most interesting objects, and her knowledge runs wide and deep. It shows in each and every one of the places she has chosen in this book.

Classic
What can you say, her name is famous, her work is classic. I may not love everything she does but I respect if and know that it was done with love, thought, and years of experience. I think that was just a run on sentence! This is a book you should have if your interested in interior design.

BAD COPY WITH BINDING ERROR
Luckily, as I was about to gift wrap this item today, I checked and at Page 24 there is a whole section turned upside down and bound, running from page 36 back through to page 25 (all upside down) and then continuing from page 37 the right way up. I would like this item replaced with a copy of the book with all the pages in the right order and the right way up, please!!
