I do not have this problem. I think part of the problem is if you pour with the metal lid on. It could drip a little from tea touching the metal lid then dripping down. The reason of a strainer for a good tea is after brewing for 3-4 minutes, the tea leaves should be removed (you can use the same tea leaves for a second brewing).
