I can FINALLY sleep now.
I saw this on a YouTube video from CPAP Reviews. This was just what I needed. I was amazed how fast it shipped to me. The instructions are the best and easy to follow. I'd recommend this to anyone who has a Dreamstation 1. You would think that the machine would be louder without the foam but you'd be wrong. The sound level with and without the foam was 70 db. Thank you for giving me a good night's sleep!

Perfect! Fits the Philips DreamStation Unit
Worth every penny. This kit comes with all of the tools you need to disassemble the unit and a great Instructions Manual with a video link. While it is not as easy as it seems, I like to caution those of you replacing it. In specific, you should familiarize yourself on how to handle the board with care. Not all aspects will disassemble or reassemble easily- you must have patience and follow the instructions.Once you assemble it back, the air pressure is a little higher than the original casing with the foam- so I highly recommend adjusting the pressure. As for noise- Having an empty frame doesn’t seem to have an impact. I chose an empty foam because there’s no guarantee that the newest versions won’t have issues. That said- I highly recommend this unit. It will help those who enjoy the Philips DreamStation. Also- the casing fit perfectly and the unit is back to work with no issues.

No more foam!
The two replacement housings came in two days. Thanks, Prime! My wife uses an Auto CPAP. While she recently received a new unit, I suggested we keep the old unit for backup or travel. I installed one of the no-foam housings. Between the directions in the booklet and the available video, I was able to install the housing without issue in about an hour.As for my unit, an ASV PAP, I was able to do the same in about 40 min. There have been concerns that these housing will not fit the larger blower used in the ASV housing. But I did not find any differences. The housing had no issue for the larger blower which makes sense since both CPAPs have the same footprint. I too will keep the old unit. We are grateful for the idea of manufacturing a part that can help those still waiting for their replacement unit. 5-stars!

The answer to the dilemma Phillips put us in.
This product is everything that it’s sales ad states. This product came super fast and well packaged. It is an exact fit to replace the OM containing the killer foam.I have always been mechanically minded and that shouldn’t be a show stopper for purchasing this product. I support that statement by the nicely illustrated instructions that accompanied the product with color photos that are easy to read and understand. TIP, While following the instructions I also put on one of several videos covering the removal of this item found on You Tube that proved to be helpful. The product comes with all the tools you should need, a nice little pry lever and the proper driver for the screws that are used. Extra screws were added in case you dropped one and didn’t observe its initial Point of impact and resting point. Don’t be in a rush and damage one of the parts or connections that need to be used for reinstalling. If for what ever reason you are stuck or unable to complete this task ask a family member or friend who knows the difference between pliers and wire cutters to help because it doesn’t take a lot of time to complete this R&R of said item. Final steps in the user manual have you conduct an ops check before final completion to ensure everything works. Here’s a weird note; after completion and I started using my CPAP I quickly realized that it ran just as quiet if not quieter than with the OM housing the killer foam used for noise abatement. And as always I.A.W. How my luck runs, two weeks later I was notified that my new device was in and ready for pickup. This item worked great and wasn’t a problem installing. I sure didn’t expect the affordable price and highly recommend this item.TIP: I strongly suggest you package up the OM part that came with your device in the event your required to turn it in or to assist in a claim or court requested hearing if that recourse is pursued.

I wish I'd found this before Philips wasted my time
Easy replacement part eliminates the foam that resulted in the "voluntary recall" of the Philips DreamStation CPAP. Directions were excellent, but if you need more, there's an Aussie who does an excellent job showing the procedure in his YouTube video.Three months after I bought my DreamStation, Philips had recalled them because foam inside the unit could deteriorate and cause severe health problems. I waited over a year after filling out their form online for Philips to send me a replacement CPAP machine, something prescribed for me for health reasons. You can't talk to anybody at Philips who "knows" anything: pure firewalls. I heard about the availability of this replacement part about a month ago, ordered it, and received it in 3 days. It took about 15 or 20 minutes to swap out the part and the tools needed were all included. Excellent fit. Excellent performance. The foam was supposed to reduce noise from the DreamStation. I can't tell the difference. My mask makes more noise. I still have had no response from Philips, but I get worthless "updates" that talk about how hard they're working and how after a year and a half, "most" customers will have received replacements.

Recall delay crisis averted!
My GP actually suggested I do this. My sleep doc said it could be the end of 2022 before Phillips sends me a replacement. GP said his brother ordered this and did it himself. "And he is not an engineer" was his exact quote. So I ordered it. Just be careful with the ribbon cable and release - go slow. Watch the videos and a careful person can do this in under an hour. I notice no change in sound, so I wish I had done this sooner. Of course, I also observed no problems with the foam in the old one, but I pitched it. Breathing easy and sleeping peacefully. Would recommend to anyone waiting for a recall replacement, but ESPECIALLY if you are not using the machine. You can do this.
